Getting (re)Started
Hello! I would like to start by saying that I’m so beyond excite to begin this new season of life. I have been back and forth between Guatemala and the United States for the past two years. I began missions in Guatemala in 2020 for the first time and fell in love not only in the people and the community there but also in the ministry. Since then, I interned with the ministry, Global Year, under the leaderships of my directors in Guatemala. It was during this internship that I heard the Lord calling me to long term missions in Guatemala. I have to admit, I was a little resistant at first because I was afraid to leave my easy and comfortable life in the United States. Through my previous experiences in missions, I learned that mission life can be often times messy and difficult, however I also came the realization that it is undeniably worth it. I am now being launched into an aspect of missions that I have never experienced – raising long-term support. Because of the nature of my work, all of my funds are coming from the generosity of the people around me. It is, to be frank, a daunting task to ask people for monetary support, and one of the reasons for this is that we live in a culture that is based on self sufficient success which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but I am confident that this way of my new way of life is not only biblical but also what the Lord is calling me to. My hope is to be fully funded by January 2023 so that I can joint the rest of my team that will be going to Guatemala in October of this year. That being said, I greatly appreciate each and every person who is joining me, not only in funds but also in prayer.
